Commuter newspaper publisher Metro will launch two new editions of its publication in Alberta this spring. Metro Calgary will launch on March 5, while Metro Edmonton will debut on April 2. They will be distributed through promoters, street boxes and other locations. The company expects a daily circulation of 60,000 in each city. The papers will be aimed at urban, active adults aged 18 to 49. “With the addition of Alberta to our portfolio, readers in the top six Canadian cities will now have the opportunity to enjoy the Metro experience every day,” said Bill McDonald, group publisher at Metro English Canada. “For our advertising stakeholders, Metro offers a truly national buy in the top Canadian markets.” Metro Canada is a joint venture of Torstar and Metro International.
