Frigidaire breaks first television campaign

Appliance maker Frigidaire Canada of Mississauga has begun a new television advertising campaign called "Frigidaire Moments." According to the company, the ads seek to depict the emotional connection between consumers and their appliances. The two 30-second commercials were developed by Scratch of Toronto to support a national print campaign that began in January. This is the first time that the Frigidaire brand has been promoted with a television campaign. "Whether it's baking cookies with grandma on a Sunday afternoon, a dinner party with friends or a midnight snack, some of the sweetest moments are shared with our appliances," said Micheal Lambie, creative director of Scratch. "The campaign reminds us that Frigidaire’s stylish, quality appliances have been an essential part of the moments of our lives since the introduction of the first fridge nearly 90 years ago." The first ad presents various generations of Frigidaire laundry and cooking appliances. The second ad presents refrigerators and dishwashers. The ads broke nationally on April 3 on HGTV, Food Network, W Network and Canal Vie. The campaign will run for 16 weeks. Four 15-second ads will run for eight weeks beginning May 29. McIlroy & King handled the media buy.
