HELENE CURTIS HIRES DDB
By Adnews Staff
Montreal-based Helene Curtis Canada has handed its account over to DDB Needham Worldwide. The business was previously with Bozell Palmer Bonner of Toronto, but DDB has been handling projects for the personal care marketer for a year. Last August DDB launched a TV campaign for Finesse hair care products using a combination of live action, special effects and 2D and 3D computer animation. Helene Curtis spent $8.8 million on Canadian advertising in 1994, according to A.C. Nielsen estimates. The company markets products such as Salon Selectives and Organic Care hair care products, as well as Degree anti-perspirant. Anglo-Dutch multinational Unilever has agreed to buy U.S. based Helen Curtis. The deal is expected to close next month.
