DRUG GETS NEW AD SHOP

The anti-depressant drug Zoloft is making people happy at BCP in Montreal. Pfizer Canada hired the agency this week to handle advertising for the brand. BCP is now preparing a spring campaign for the drug. BCP won the assignment, in a competition with two unnamed agencies, on the strength of its strategic thinking, marketing director Louis Couillard told Adnews yesterday. Pfizer decided to hold an agency review because it wanted a "fresh view," he said. The incumbent agency was Anderson Advertising of Toronto, which has had the brand since 1991. Anderson still handles other Pfizer drugs. Grey Advertising is also on the agency roster in the company's pharmaceutical division. Other drugs from Montreal-based Pfizer include anti-arthritic Feldene, cardiovascular treatments Minipress and Norvasc and the antibiotic Vibramycin.
