SEGA GIVING AWAY MONEY

Sega put its newest video game on the North American market last week with a contest offering players a chance to win a Sega Saturn game system and cash prizes of $10,000 or $25,000. The new Sega game is called VectorMan. In the contest, the final screen says "You Win" after a player has successfully completed the game. He or she then phones the number on the screen and mails in the winning VectorMan cartridge as a contest entry. However, no purchase is actually necessary to enter the contest. Consumers can send in post cards bearing their names, addresses and phone numbers. A Canadian and U.S. campaign promoting the game and contest began earlier this month, using TV, print and point-of-purchase created by Goodby Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco. In Canada, Media Experts of Montreal did the media buy. The video game also has a site on the World Wide Web.
