APPLE LAUNCHES FOUR COMPUTERS
By Adnews Staff
California-based Apple Computer launched four machines yesterday which are lower powered and lower cost versions of the 9500/120, 9500/132 which Apple says in a release are "the world's most powerful personal computers." The new models bear the numerical labels 7200/75, 7200/90, 7500/100 and 8500/120. While they have slower clock speeds than the 9500 models, they have the same technology that gives improved performance in video conferencing, graphics and networking. They also have the 604 PowerPC microprocessor which was first installed in the 9500s. The 9500s are for users who need a lot of power, such as people working in desktop video or graphic design. The new machines are in the mid-to-high range, designed for education, business and other areas where personal computers are used. A campaign in business, technical and trade publications will back the launch of the new machines, done by BBDO Canada. Wunderman Worldwide is running a direct marketing push, while National Public Relations is doing PR.
