News Media Canada readies campaign
By Derek Winkler
News Media Canada is preparing an advertising campaign to coincide with National Newspaper Week. The campaign, which will run from Oct. 1 to 7, print and and digital ads in local, regional and national newspapers, sponsored content during The Social on CTV, out-of-home executions at post-secondary schools with journalism programs, a collaboration with First Book Canada, and national media and public relations efforts. The effort focuses on the organization’s first book, called Champions, created in collaboration with illustrator Rachel Joanis. The book contains a collection stories from people in the Canadian news media industry, including journalists, editors, publishers and photographers. The campaign was developed by The Greater in collaboration with Craft PR. News Media Canada is a national association representing the Canadian news media industry.
