GE Appliances begins Keep Up Can campaign
By Adnews Staff
GE Appliances Canada has begun a social media campaign called “Keep Up Can” as part of its sponsorship of Canada Soccer. The national promotion is in support of the Canadian men’s team as they prepare to compete in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The initiative makes use of an Instagram augmented reality filter that consumers can use to play a virtual game of keep-up. For each head bump of the digital soccer ball, a recorded cheer of support will be played live for the team via a ticker at the venue. The promotion also includes a draw for a prize package of GE Appliances laundry machines and Canada Soccer merchandise. Consumers can enter the contest at <http://www.keepupcan.ca>. Additional elements will include digital media and social media content, public relations and influencer activities.
“Finding a way to keep Canadians connected to an event happening overseas seemed a natural fit for us as the solution was already a part of our DNA; innovation that we bring to the home,” said Bob Park, chief of brands at GE Appliances Canada. "As the market leader in connected appliances, we developed ‘Keep Up Can’ to help make sure that our team feels the energy and excitement of the country that will be cheering them on.”
