Air Canada, Disney conduct Turning Red promotion

Air Canada has begun a promotion in collaboration with Walt Disney Studios Canada to support the release of the company's upcoming film Turning Red, which will premiere on streaming service Disney+ on March 11. The promotion includes an Airbus A220 aircraft decorated with themed graphics that will fly nationally. In addition, passengers on Air Canada aircraft will see a video similar to the film's trailer. Some aircraft will also contain seatback guides to the city of Toronto, where the film is set, highlighting some of the director's favourite places in the city. On aircraft destined for Toronto, an animated landscape of the city will be displayed on seatback screens as passengers board. Also, the March issue of Air Canada enRoute magazine will feature a cover illustration depicting the film's lead character looking at the city, as an interview with director Domee Shi.

The airline is also conducting a contest for five prize packages, each consisting of a trip for four to Toronto to attend a premiere special event of the film on March 8. Consumers can enter online at <https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/book/special-offers/disneypixar.html> until Feb. 20

"We are very proud of this unique collaboration with Air Canada and it shows how important this film is to our country," said Quincy Kelman, vice-president of marketing at Walt Disney Studios Canada. "Together we are able to transcend this film beyond the screen. Turning Red is set in Canada, directed by a Canadian and will be treasured by Canadians for years to come."
