Twitter launches Twitter Shops
By Adnews Staff
Twitter Canada has debuted a new online shopping service called Twitter Shops. The system, which uses technology from social media agency So.da, allows consumers to discover and purchase products on Twitter. It also provides information about participating brands and directs traffic to their websites. The system uses “virtual pop up stores” on Twitter to integrate brands into So.da-produced content. So-da is a division of Corus Entertainment.
“Social shopping has accelerated exponentially during the past year, and these evolved consumer behaviours are here to stay even when the economy opens up more broadly,” said Dervla Kelly, senior vice-president of marketing and So.da. “This new offering leverages the best of content and storytelling, alongside targeted media, to help consumers discover, engage, and shop seamlessly right within the platform.”
