Nestle Canada signs NHL sponsorship

Nestlé Canada has signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the National Hockey League through which the company’s KitKat product will become the official chocolate of the league in Canada. The sponsorship will begin will a promotion called the “Big Breakaway Contest.” Beginning Aug. 1, consumers can enter online at <http://www.kitkat.ca/breakaway> for a chance to win a 2021 Stanley Cup Final prize package, as well as daily prizes. Nestlé will also have a brand presence at annual events including the NHL Winter Classic, NHL All-Star Weekend, Stanley Cup Playoffs, Stanley Cup Final, NHL Awards and NHL Draft. In-store displays will also feature NHL branding.

“KitKat has been a beloved brand of Canadians for generations and we're thrilled to join forces with the other true love of our nation, the NHL,” said Chandra Kumar, confectionery business executive officer at Nestlé Canada. “The launch of this multi-year partnership, timed perfectly as we head into the highly anticipated 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs, will further leverage two strong Canadian brands to reach new audiences by creating memorable moments for fans from coast-to-coast.”
