CFL begins Try Football campaign

The Canadian Football League has begun a new marketing campaign called “Try Football” that encouraged young people to try the sport. The campaign features football player and television personality Brad Smith. It includes a website at <http://www.tryfootball.ca> at which visitors can sign up for local youth football programs. In addition, the league will distribute 11,500 free footballs nationally. The effort also includes broadcast and online advertising. The campaign is being conducted in association with the CFL Players’ Association, Football Canada, U Sports and SheIs.

“Fun and football have always gone hand-in-hand,” said CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie. “Our passionate fans have built an incredible foundation for the game, and by delivering footballs to more new Canadians, youth, families and communities, we’ll welcome the next generation of Canadian players and fans.”
