Globe and Mail signs distribution deal with Cision

The Globe and Mail of Toronto has entered into an agreement with content distribution company Cision. Via this deal, Cision will become the exclusive electronic world-wide licensee for Globe and Mail content for the purposes of news monitoring, press review, business intelligence and research. Beginning in January 2019, the company will offer multi-source, searchable databases for clients in the corporate, library and educational sectors.

The agreement includes content from Report on Business magazine, Style Advisor, a text archive of The Globe and Mail print edition from 1977 to present, and a collection of historical print pages dating back to 1844. It also includes an archive of online content from 2000 to present and profiles of Report on Business Top 1000 companies.

"Cision's recent technological investments have enabled automated content flow, copyright payments and usage reports for publishers, reinforcing our position as a partner of choice in the content aggregator market," said Nicole Guillot, president of Cision for Canada. "We work with the best and most respected brands both in Canada and globally and are committed to ensuring a relevant audience for The Globe and Mail content."
