Chartwell Retirement Residences seeks agency

Toronto-based Chartwell Retirement Residences has begun a search for a marketing agency. The company is seeking a full-service firm to manage its strategic planning, creative development, media planning and digital work. The account is currently held by Montreal-based Alfred Communications and OMD. According to the company, the agency search is the result of Chartwell's recent shift of its marketing department from Montreal to Toronto. The company will accept agency applications through the Association of Canadian Advertisers until Sept. 24.

"We believe it's important for our agency to be close to our corporate office to allow us direct and close proximity to our account leaders," said Sharon Henderson, vice-president of marketing and communications. "As Chartwell's brand continues to evolve and strengthen and as Canadian demographics begin to shift towards an aging population, we wanted to start a new chapter in our marketing efforts. A new agency will bring different perspectives and, while we are searching for a Toronto based agency, it will be important for us to find a partner with a strong understanding of the Quebec market as well as an office in Montreal."
