Insurance Bureau of Canada begins Know Your Policy campaign

The Toronto-based Insurance Bureau of Canada has begun a new online campaign called "Know Your Policy" intended to promote insurance literacy among consumers. The initiative consists of a series of online videos and advice posted to Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram. The creative addresses topics such as how to file an insurance claim, how to buy insurance and where to find answers to insurance-related questions. Executions will also cover policy issues such as coverage limits and deductibles.

"A car collision, a home damaged by wind or hail and a business interrupted by vandalism or floods are risks that people face each day," said Sally Turney, vice-president of communications at the bureau. "After a loss happens, everyday life can change in many different ways. Now is the time to know your policy and better protect yourself. For those who have insurance this campaign is designed to help consumers better understand why they should know what their policy covers. If you don't have insurance for your car, home or business, now is the time to ask questions and protect your most-valuable assets."
