By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based specialty coffee retailer Second Cup Ltd. has broken its deal to have its coffee served on Canadian Airlines flights, and has decided to team up with Air Canada to serve Second Cup brew on its flights instead. Starting next month, Second Cup coffee will be served on selected Air Canada flights. By February, it will be available on all flights. The three-year deal could bring in up to $2 million for Second Cup. Currently the company's annual revenue is about $63 million. Second Cup has been focusing on getting its coffee in non-traditional places such as colleges and hospitals. It also serves its coffee at Great Canadian Bagel outlets, and plans to serve it at Swiss Chalet restaurants as well. Second Cup operates over 520 outlets across North America, including 250 in Canada.
