Swiss Chalet begins AR promotion

Restaurant chain Swiss Chalet has begun an augmented reality promotion called “Chalet World.” Users can access the presentation through the brand’s mobile application by scanning a code on its takeout packaging. It consists of trivia games and other interactive elements in a chalet setting. The promotion also includes digital coupons and other special offers.
“We know there is a limited number of apps our guests keep on their phones, so we wanted to differentiate ourselves and maximize the value of our app so huests will continue using it, even outside of mealtime,” said Ron Simard, chief operating officer at Swiss Chalet. “Chalet World allows us to introduce Swiss Chalet to a much younger audience while still staying true to our history and reward loyalists for being part of our heritage.”
