By Adnews Staff
Walmart Canada has begun a promotion in association with Corus Entertainment called "Walmart Toy Testers." Developed by Traffik of Toronto, the initiative takes the form of a two-part television presentation promoting 20 toys as holiday gifts. The first 30-minute episode aired on Oct. 4 on specialty television channel YTV. It will air again on Oct. 22. The second part will air on Nov. 1. The television episodes are being supported with in-store materials and exposure in Walmart's Live Better magazine, as well as TV commercials, online videos, digital materials on YTV.com and Yummy Mummy Club, and a website at <http://www.walmart.ca/toytesters>.
"We're excited about this first program in our partnership with Traffik and the opportunity to leverage our expertise in creating ground breaking content that lives across platforms to inform and engage consumers along their path to purchase," said Gerry Mackrell, executive vice-pesident and head of airtime sales at Corus. "Audiences will be engaged by the Walmart Toy Testers program where entertaining and honest feedback is given on the hottest toys of the season, which will ultimately help them make their holiday toy giving decisions easy."
