The Kit Compact debuts in Toronto

Toronto-based style and beauty property The Kit has debuted a new magazine called The Kit Compact. The 44-page magazine will be produced monthly and will focus on local content concerning fashion, trends and personal development. It is aimed primarily at women between the ages of 25 and 35 in the Toronto area. The free magazine will have a distribution of 50,000. The first issue is being distributed by hand by promotional workers this week. It will also be available at participating transit stations and shopping malls. A national roll-out of the title is planned for 2016. The Kit is a division of Toronto Star Newspapers.

"Fashion media brands around the world have introduced pop-up magazines with great success, and we wanted to bring that popular concept to Canadians," said Laura deCarufel, editor-in-chief of The Kit. "The Kit Compact offers the best of Toronto style and beauty. Our team will be scouting local shops, test-driving style and beauty essentials and dissecting trends so our readers can plug into the best of the city, all in one place."
