CIBC, Tim Hortons launch Double Double card

CIBC and Tim Hortons have launched a new combination credit card and stored value card called the CIBC Tim Hortons Double Double Visa Card. The card incorporates two buttons with coloured lights that a user can press to select which function they want to use. One button makes the card into a standard Visa card. One percent of each purchase made will be converted into Tim Cash loyalty points. Pressing the other button will switch the card to stored value mode, in which these accumulated points can be redeemed for Tim Hortons menu items. CIBC is the exclusive provider of this card technology in Canada. This is the first time this system has been used in this country.

"We're excited to bring another banking innovation to Canadians," said David Williamson, group head of retail and business banking at CIBC. "Our new Double Double card gives clients more choice in the type of rewards they earn, and our partnership with Tim Hortons gives us an opportunity to attract new clients to CIBC who already enjoy Canada's favourite coffee as part of their daily routine."

The launch of the card is being supported with a website at <http://www.doubledoublecard.com> and with social media activities.
