CDIC releases mobile application

The Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation recently retained Doug & Serge of Toronto to develop a new mobile application intended to answer consumer questions about deposit insurance. The Deposit Estimator App includes a tool that will assess deposit coverage and provide additional details if requested, such as infographics and videos. It is available in English and French for Android, Apple and BlackBerry devices. A Windows Phone version will be released later this month. Technical development was handled by Lollipop.
"Most Canadians know that the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation protects their savings, but they may not know our coverage limit or what financial products are not covered," said Brad Evenson, director of communications and public affairs at CDIC. "Doug & Serge worked with us to develop a mobile solution, something uncommon in the financial category. The CDIC Deposit Insurance Estimator app is straightforward and easy to use, something we know will be appreciated by consumers and financial advisors alike."
