WPP buys stake in Richard Attias & Associates

WPP has acquired a 30% stake in New York-based consulting company Richard Attias & Associates. The company specializes in the development of conferences and summit meetings for government and corporate clients. The company employs 50 people, has additional offices in Paris, London, Rabat and Dubai, and has revenues of US$35 million.

Events led by Attias have included the World Economic Forum, the Clinton Global Initiative, the launch of the Euro in 2000, the 2008 Arab Strategy Forum, the APEC CEO Summit, the Middle East Peace Summit in Jordan and the Nobel Laureates Conference. Its public sector clients have included the African Development Bank, Bahrain, Brazil, China, Dubai, France, Gabon, Jordan, Morocco, Qatar, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United Nations and the United States.

"By building this partnership with global influencer Richard Attias, WPP confirms its strategy to support countries to brand their nations and corporations to have access to faster growing markets," said WPP CEO Martin Sorrell. "Our ambition is to create together with Richard a world champion in the field of strategic communication, international conferences and global action oriented events."
