Checkout 51 hires two

Toronto-based Checkout 51, a company that specializes in electronic coupons for mobile devices, has appointed Kristie Painting to the position of director of sales. She was previously general manager and vice-president of sales and marketing at Olive Media. Prior to that, she was a strategic account executive at Yahoo Canada, and account executive at DoubleClick and a retail sales manager and marketing executive at Now Magazine. John Alexiou has joined the company as director of consumer insights. He was previously director of customer information at McCain Foods. Prior to that, he was director of sales information and technology at Kraft Foods.
