New president, chief transformational officer at Cossette

Cossette of Toronto has appointed Dave Lafond president of the agency in English Canada. He will lead Cossette's offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Halifax. Lafond will hold the position of president alongside Melanie Dunn, president of Cossette in Quebec. Lafond was previously president of Proximity Canada. Prior to that, he was vice-president and general manager of Publicis Modem in Canada. He also spent 11 years in account service at Publicis in Toronto.

Glen Hunt has joined Cossette as chief transformational officer. He will be responsible for "inspiring creativity, innovation and transformation within the Cossette organization," according to the company. Hunt was most recently executive creative director at Dentsu Canada. Prior to that, he was group creative director at Bensimon Byrne, senior vice-president and creative director at Ammirati Puris Lintas, and creative director at Lowe Roche. He has also worked at Young & Rubicam and JWT.

"Hiring either Glen Hunt or Dave Lafond alone would be major news for any agency," said Brett Marchand, CEO of Cossette. "Being able to announce two new leaders of such high calibre and industry prominence at the same time is transformative. These strategic changes are a very clear statement that we intend to make Cossette the undisputed leader in the Canadian market, and we intend to achieve this through the best in creative, executive and digital leadership."
