Orange Julius readies Calgary street promotion
By Adnews Staff
Juice chain Orange Julius will conduct a street promotion in Calgary next week. The effort will take the form of an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for largest fruit structure. On Aug. 13, sculptor Shawn Feeney will construct a ten-foot-tall fruit tree on Stephen Ave. using 1,200 pineapples, oranges, strawberries, peaches and mangos. At the same time, promotional workers will distribute 4,000 Strawberry Premium Fruit Smoothies to passers-by in exchange for donations to the Children's Miracle Network, the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation and the Canadian Red Cross. The event will also include a personal appearance by Olympic curler Cheryl Bernard. Orange Julius is a subsidiary of Dairy Queen.
