CFIB conducts small business contest

The Toronto-based Canadian Federation of Independent Business is conducting a contest promotion called “Small Business Every Day” intended to encourage shopping at local businesses. Until July 24, consumers can enter a weekly draw for $1,000 by submitting a description of why they favour a specific business. Additional prizes include a “Big Thank You Box” that includes various small business products, as well as gift cards from Scotiabank, EBay Canada and Dairy Queen. The businesses mentioned by the winners will also receive prizes. Consumers can enter at <http://www.smallbusinesseveryday.ca>.

“The contest has received thousands of entries from across Canada,” said Laura Jones, executive vice-president of CFIB. “Consumers are sending heartfelt messages to their favourite local businesses, and it is great to see how small businesses can make a big difference in the lives of so many people.”
