Website roundup

Ideon Media of Toronto has launched a new online lifestyle magazine aimed at men. Called AmongMen.com, the website will cover topics such as fitness, food, health, technology, entertainment and fashion. The site will be headed by editor-in-chief Christopher Turner, who has previously contributed to Fashionism.ca, MSN.ca, Sun Media, the Kaboose Family Network and Torontolife.com. "We're very proud to be launching our fourth major site as part of a strategy to offer premium content to Canadian consumers and premium placement to Canadian advertisers," said Kevin Bartus, president and CEO of Ideon Media. "These sites offer us the ability to run integrated sponsored programs and custom videos alongside original editorial content."

Corus Entertainment has redesigned its website for preschool children, TreehouseTV.com. In addition to a simplified design, the site now features additional games and videos, as well as new content for parents under a new brand called Treehouse Parents. Other new content includes blogs by on-air personalities, as well as newsletters and social media functions aimed at mothers. The site is headed by managing editor Jes Watson, formerly editor of Sweetspot.ca. "Our objective was to enhance the existing platform where parents go with their kids to watch videos and play games, while also giving moms and dads relevant content that's tailored for them on Treehouse Parents," said Christina Litz, vice-president of digital content and engagement at Corus Entertainment. According to the company, the site attracts approximately one million visits per month.
