Guinness conducts St. Patricks's Day promotion

Alcoholic beverage company Diageo has begun a promotion in support of its Guinness beer brand tied to St. Patrick's Day. The company has brought six promotional workers from Ireland to Toronto and Montreal to "educate Canadians on the authentic way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day." The promotion will run until St. Patrick's Day on March 17. The promotion also includes a smartphone application for locating Irish pubs and social media support. "Canada consumes more green beer per capita than any nation should," said participant Paul O'Rourke. "Drinking green beer on St. Patrick's Day is completely un-Irish and I think it should be banned from pubs in Canada. I feel that it is my patriotic duty to stem the tide and show Canadians the authentic way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day."
