OC Transpo renews contract with Pattison Outdoor Advertising

OC Transpo, which operates the transit system in Ottawa, has renewed its transit advertising agreement with Pattison Outdoor Advertising of Mississauga for 10 years. The new contract includes the installation of ads on new next-vehicle-arrival displays in Transitway stations. These will go into operation in 2014. The agreement also includes provision for advertising murals on the sides of 75 recently-purchased double-decker buses, beginning this spring. Pattison will also offer full station advertising options in the future. Pattison won the contract in a competitive request-for-proposals process involving an unknown number of contenders. "Transit advertising offers local businesses a very cost efficient way to reach a city-wide audience, build awareness and drive customers to their doors," said Frank Wilson, sales manager for Ottawa and eastern Ontario at Pattison. "The double-decker bus murals should be a hit with clients because it is the only large-format outdoor advertising option available in the market."
