Award show roundup

Toronto-based Canadian Women in Communications has announced the winners of its 2013 annual awards. The awards recognize the leadership contributions of women in the communications, broadcasting and technology industries. The organization's Woman of the Year award went to Margot Micallef, president and CEO of Vista Radio. Leadership Excellence Awards were given to: Pamela Dinsmore, regulatory vice-president at Rogers Communications; Tina Gokstorp, president of CTAR; Mary Hayes, CEO of Engage Learning Systems; Juggy Sihota-Chahil, vice-president of customer experience, strategy and development at Telus; Muriel Solomon, senior director of marketing at Shaw Media; and Terri St. Louis, a broadcaster at BeIN Sport. "This diverse group reflects how much CWC itself has grown and expanded in recent years," said organization chair Patricia Douey. "Leadership talent such as these award winners is a key reason that Canada's technology, media and telecom companies play a pivotal role in furthering Canada's digital innovation agenda."
