Pattison Outdoor Advertising switches to LED billboard lighting
By Adnews Staff
Pattison Outdoor Advertising of Mississauga has completed a six-month initiative to convert 7,800 outdoor billboards to LED light fixtures. According to the company, the project was timed to coincide with the arrival of shorter fall and winter days, which require boards to be illuminated for longer periods of time. The new fixtures reportedly consume approximately 580 kilowatt hours per year, compared to 2,000 kilowatt hours per year for the old lighting system. "By converting the boards to LEDs we have lowered our electrical consumption by 66%," said Randy Otto, president of Pattison Outdoor.
