HEWLETT-PACKARD LAUNCHES NEW NOTEBOOK PC
By Adnews Staff
U.S.-based Hewlett-Packard will introduce its OmniBook 800 notebook next month to the North American market. The machine is a 1.7-kilogram PC that boasts a 133 MHz Intel Pentium processor and a 1.44 GB hard drive. Accessories include a 4X external CD-ROM drive that uses an AC adapter, a docking system that supports "hot-docking" and Windows 95 Plug and Play. This allows users to dock and undock the notebook while the operating system is still running. H-P Canada will support the launch of the product, as well as H-P's entire PC line, with a new ad campaign. It will consist of TV in Canada's major markets, as well as national print ads. The campaign is being handled by Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising of Toronto.
