CANADA POST GIVES STAMP OF APPROVAL TO LITERACY
By Adnews Staff
ABC CANADA and Canada Post Corporation have teamed up to raise money for literacy. The duo launched a campaign yesterday asking Canadians to donate a nickel to family literacy through the purchase of a new postage stamp. The stamp features a hole that has been cut out of the centre, shaped like the piece of a children's puzzle. ABC will support the fundraising effort using print, radio and TV ads created by The Cundari Group of Toronto. The TV and radio spots began this week. Magazine and newspaper ads will begin appearing next week. All ads will run for approximately two months. In mid-November, Canada Post will distribute contest entry forms to 11.2 million Canadian homes for a chance to win a Hewlett-Packard Canada Ltd. home-learning centre, which includes a computer, printer and 70 software titles. It is hoping residents will use the new stamps when sending in the forms.
