Tourisme Montreal to host 20th Open House promotion

Tourisme Montréal will conduct the 20th edition of its "Open House" initiative in that city on June 30. The awareness campaign is intended to educate tourism industry employees about the various visitor activities available in the city as the summer tourism season begins. Approximately 30 tourist attractions will be open to an expected 15,000 people from tourist-oriented businesses such as hotels, the Montreal Convention Center, the Quebec Ministry of Tourism, wholesalers, travel agencies and taxi drivers. Participating attractions include the Science Centre, Biodôme, Insectarium, Botanical Garden, Musée d'art contemporain, Montréal Museum of Fine Art, the McCord Museum, the Stewart Museum, the Pointe-à-Callière Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History and the Centre d'histoire de Montréal. "We have organized this initiative for the last 20 years because we are absolutely convinced that it is through personal experience that our tourist industry employees will become the best ambassadors to assist our visitors," said Charles Lapointe, president and CEO of Tourisme Montréal.
