Harlequin readies So You Think You Can Write promotion

Toronto-based book publisher Harlequin, in association with its international romance imprint Mills & Boon, has begun a global promotion called "So You Think You Can Write." The promotion takes the form of a writing contest for aspiring authors. The company will host an online conference at <http://www.soyouthinkyoucanwrite.com> from Sept. 17 to 21 at which visitors can receive advice from editors on writing a romance novel. Participants can then submit their writing for consideration in the contest before Oct. 13. Public online online voting will determine a list of 25 entrants who will be invited to submit a completed manuscript. The editors will select three finalists. The winner will be determined by another round of online voting. The winner will receive a contract to write a series of romance novels for Harlequin and Mills & Boon.
