Harlequin begins social media campaign

Toronto-based fiction publisher Harlequin has begun a social media campaign focusing on the personal stories of its romance authors. The start of the campaign was timed to coincide with  International Women's Day on March 8. It consists of online video, blog posts, Twitter messages and photographs. The content highlights the careers and life experience of participating writers before they became authors. The campaign will run until May 3.

"So many Harlequin authors have lived their own remarkable stories," said Loriana Sacilotto, the company's editorial executive vice-president. "From the youngest female pilot in US Air Force history to a forensic photographer recognized for her work after the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma to a leather artisan for rock royalty and so much more, our authors have led incredible lives. We are proud to be their publisher and thrilled to be able to share a glimpse into some of their fascinating histories. They are a testament to the amazing strength in lived experience our authors bring to their storytelling."
