HOSPITAL FOR SICK KIDS LOTTERY RETURNS
By Adnews Staff
Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children last week launched its second Wishing Well Lottery in support of children's health research. Only 150,000 tickets were printed, offering players over 2,200 chances to win a prize of $1,000 or more. A total of $5.5 million will be given away, including two prizes of $1 million to be drawn in December. A similar contest was run by the hospital last spring, raising $5 million. Organizers hope this latest lottery will bring in over $6 million. An advertising campaign is supporting the contest, using radio, television and newspapers across Ontario. Four million brochures will also be distributed at the hospital, at Shell Canada gas stations and at branches of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. They, along with BBS/CFTO-TV, CFRB AM 1010 and Mix 99.9 FM, are corporate sponsors of the lottery. The campaign will run as long as there are tickets available, which organizers predict will be about three weeks. The ads were created by Padulo Integrated Inc. of Toronto. PR work was handled by OverCat Communications, also of Toronto.
