Canadian Olympic Committee hires Proximity Canada

The Canadian Olympic Committee has retained Proximity Canada of Toronto as its creative agency of record. The firm won the account in a competitive request-for-proposals process involving 12 contenders. The assignment includes brand and digital strategy as well as the development of a London Olympic Games campaign. As a part of the agreement, Proximity will provide in-kind work. "While we had some very impressive submissions from many of Canada's leading creative agencies, the Proximity team came out on top," said Derek Kent, chief marketing officer of the committee. "Their powerful thinking, creative ideas and client passion came through on every level. The goal here is to showcase our athletes, tell their stories and offer an opportunity for 33 million Canadians to celebrate Team Canada. Together we will be creating a platform going into the 2012 London Olympic Games and beyond."
