Sponsorship roundup

Tim Hortons has signed-on as the title sponsor of the National Hockey League All-Star Game. This year's game, which will take place on Jan. 29 in Ottawa, will be known as the 2012 Tim Hortons NHL All-Star Game. As part of the sponsorship, Tim Hortons will receive in-ice branding, camera-visible boards, on-air exposure during CBC broadcasts, brand integration with league-controlled media properties NHL.com, NHL Network and NHL Radio as well as the ability to integrate the Timbits Minor Hockey players into promotional activities. Tim Hortons will also be the presenting sponsor of the Tim Hortons NHL Elimination Shootout during the NHL All-Star Skills Competition and the trophy exhibit at NHL Fan Fair. "Having the 2012 Tim Hortons NHL All-Star Game in Canada serves as the perfect rallying point for Canadians who love hockey", said Bill Moir, chief marketing officer of the TDL Group. "For a company whose history and brand strategy is so inherently tied to the world's greatest game across all levels, it reinforces how ideal this partnership is in helping celebrate the NHL's finest in Ottawa." The company already holds a multi-year sponsorship as the official quick service coffee, donut and breakfast restaurant of the league in Canada.

HP Canada has signed-on as a sponsor of the Team Gushue curling team. Through this agreement, HP will have visibility during World Curling tour events, the Canada Cup and the Ford World Men's Curling Championships. HP will also provide the team with a variety of HP notebook computers, along with headphones, mice and backpacks. The team's club in St. John's will also receive an HP desktop PC. "Team Gushue and HP share a similar objective," said Chris Fudge, vice-president of consumer business at HP Canada. "Team Gushue is committed to becoming a leader on the world curling stage and HP is committed to being a leader in the personal computer market."
