The Movie Network promotes Boardwalk Empire

Specialty channel The Movie Network is conducting a promotional campaign for its new series Boardwalk Empire in the Greater Toronto Area. The campaign includes the use of promotional workers dressed in 1920s-style clothing who distributed wrapped copies of The Toronto Star at various transit stations when the show launched last week. The campaign is also making use of branded 1920's trucks distributing postcards about the show and the channel. This element of the campaign was developed by TrojanOne. Additional components include digital billboards in Toronto and Montreal, as well as advertising in a number of Microsoft Xbox video games. "The Movie Network is all about engaging subscribers with riveting premium entertainment," said Jennifer Potts, the channel's consumer marketing manager for movie services. "With Boardwalk Empire we're capitalizing on the huge buzz for one of the most highly anticipated television events of the year by creating an innovative campaign with multiple entry points that will be impossible for Torontonians to ignore." The Movie Network is owned by Astral.
