The Canadian Public Relations Society of Toronto presented its annual Achieving Communications Excellence Awards last week. Argyle Communications received the PR Campaign of the Year award for its "Peanuts in Crisis" food safety campaign. Faye Clack Communications received the award for Best Creative PR Campaign of the Year for its "Avocados from Mexico" campaign.

The Globe and Mail has announced the winners of The Globe and Mail Young Lions Competition for advertising professionals and students under 28 years of age. Scott Maddox of Rethink Vancouver and Mike Felix of Cossette West won the gold award in the print category. Kyle Lamb and Andrew Livingston of John St. won gold in the film category. Sarah Bradley and Megan Blackburn of Yahoo Canada took the gold in the media category. Yusong Zhang of DDB Toronto and Tal Wagman of Saatchi & Saatchi Toronto won the gold award in the cyber category. The gold-winning teams will go on to compete in the International Young Lions Competition at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in Cannes, France in June.
