TSN begins fifth Kick for a Million promotion

TSN has resumed its annual "Wendy's Kick for a Million" promotion for a fifth year. Consumers can enter online at <>. On Oct. 2, two finalists will be randomly selected from eastern Canada and two from western Canada. On Oct. 16, the eastern finalists will compete during halftime at a Canadian Football League game in Toronto by kicking field goals from various distances to score points. On Oct. 17, the western finalists will compete during a game in Calgary. The winner of each regional contest will compete in Toronto on Oct. 22. The contestant who scores the most points will proceed to the final stage of the initiative, which will take place the next day during a live broadcast of the game on TSN. The finalist will attempt to kick field goals from 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards to win various prizes. The grand prize for a successful 50-yard kick is one million dollars. "Wendy's Kick for a Million gives everyday sports fans the chance to win big in one of the most successful and lucrative fan giveaways in Canada, and this year's event features even bigger prizes and greater cash rewards," said Phil King, president of TSN. The contest is being promoted with 15- and 30-second commercials on TSN, as well as public relations activities, online ads and in-restaurant materials at Wendy's locations.
