The Score, Gillette begin sportscaster contest

Specialty channel The Score, in association with Gillette, has begun a contest promotion called "Gillette Drafted: The Search for Canada's Next Sportscaster." The winner will receive a contract with Score Media as a sportscaster on the company's television channel and website. Viewers can enter the contest online at Drafted.ca or at a series of live auditions that will take place in Calgary, Halifax, Ottawa, St. John's, Toronto, Vancouver and Winnipeg. The process of picking the winner will also be used as part of an upcoming reality series that will debut on The Score in the fall. "Drafted is one of the most ambitious projects that The Score has ever been engaged in and we look forward to partnering with Gillette on this program," said John Levy, CEO at Score Media. "Finding fresh, knowledgeable and authentic sports talent is always a priority at The Score. We believe our fans know as much about sports as we do and we are excited to offer one of them a shot at proving it."
