BELL ADDS TO SYMPATICO SERVICE
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Bell Global Solutions added more features to its Sympatico Internet Service this week in Ontario and Quebec. Users can now access the Internet faster with Integrated Services Digital Network and can create their own Web pages. In creating their pages, users can use counter software to track visitors to their Web pages, link their e-mail addresses to their Web page and add their sites to an index of member sites. TV advertising to promote the new service will begin in August. BBDO Canada of Toronto is creating the Ontario ads. Cossette Communication-Marketing of Montreal is doing the Quebec campaign. In addition, Bell has lowered the price of Sympatico this week. Members get 60 hours of access per month for $24.95. Its basic package costs $9.95 a month for five hours. Every additional hour is $1.50. Currently, Sympatico is also available in B.C., Manitoba, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and P.E.I. The service will be available nationally by the end of the summer.
