RANSCOMBE GETS PROJECT FROM ROM

Toronto-based Ranscombe & Co. will launch a campaign this fall in the Toronto area for the Royal Ontario Museum. The campaign will use posters, print, transit and outdoor advertising to promote the museum's bear exhibit, which will be at the museum from Sept. 29 to Jan. 5, 1997. Ranscombe was given the project late last month after the ROM's former agency, Roche Macaulay & Partners Advertising of Toronto, resigned from the account. Ranscombe was given the project without a review. Agency president Jim Ranscombe worked on the business during his days at Roche. The ROM is holding a competition for the $5 million account, and will make a decision by August. Ranscombe told Adnews his agency will compete for the account.
