Pattison Outdoor Advertising buys green power certificates

Pattison Outdoor Advertising of Oakville, ON has purchased a number of renewable energy certificates from Epcor Utilities of Edmonton. The certificates represent power generated from renewable sources such as wind, biomass or water. According to Pattison, the certificates it has purchased will offset 20% of the emissions from the generation of electricity to power its billboards nationally in 2008. "We want to be an industry leader in demonstrating environmental responsibility," said Randy Otto, president of Pattison. "Our involvement in the Green Tag program illustrates our commitment to fostering clean power initiatives."
