Ford hires Edelman

Ford of Canada has retained Edelman Canada of Toronto as its public relations agency. The firm will develop an integrated communications program for the automaker that will "reach beyond traditional automotive and product-focused media relations and public affairs," according to Freda Colbourne, CEO of Edelman. "Edelman has demonstrated a true understanding of our business and the opportunities in our marketplace," said Lauren More, vice president of public affairs at Ford of Canada. "We're confident that Edelman will execute strong communications programs that will greatly contribute to our overall business goals." Edelman won the account in a competitive process involving an unknown number of firms. There was no incumbent agency.
