Ford renews Maple Leafs sponsorship

Ford of Canada has renewed its sponsorship agreement with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment of Toronto for a further five years. The agreement includes a new initiative called the "Leafs Nation Ticket Program," which will give away approximately 9,000 free tickets to home games of the Toronto Maple Leafs during each each of the sponsorship. For each Leafs home game, 200 tickets will be given away through Ford's Twitter and Facebook pages to fans who participate in various online and in-person challenges. The tickets will be for seats in the newly-designed Ford Fan Deck in Air Canada Centre. In addition, the open area outside Gate Five of the arena will be named the "Ford Fan Zone at Maple Leaf Square" and used for a series of fan promotions.

Other elements of the sponsorship include a promotion called the "Player Drive to the Game," by which winning Ford customers will attend a game with Toronto Maple Leafs alumni, and a new promotion called "Road Game Correspondent," by which winning Leafs and Raptors fans will follow the teams on the road as a guest writer for their social media channels.

"Ford is a tremendous partner and we're thrilled that our fans will be the real winners with the new opportunities that will stem from this relationship," said David Hopkinson, chief commercial officer of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. "Already this pre-season, the Ford Fan Deck in Air Canada Centre has been filled with die-hard Leafs fans and new programming outside the building will only add to the special fan experience we've seen in the playoffs the past two years."
