Hanes Canada begins Cash for Comfort contest

Underwear company Hanes Canada has begun a national contest promotion called "$25,000 Cash for Comfort" intended to increase sales and in-store traffic and to generate a database of Canadian customers for future marketing activities. Purchasers of Hanes products can enter the contest by submitting the UPC code through a website located at <http://cashforcomfort.hanes.ca>. Entrants must then win an online game in which they must collect various Hanes items within a time limit. Players who collect 12 items will be eligible for one of three $25,000 grand prizes. Players who collect eight items will be eligible to win one of 100 portable DVD players."We were looking for a fun way to engage and interact with consumers and encourage them to visit our retailers," said Roslyn Griner, vice-president of marketing and product development at Hanesbrands. "With this promotion, we are able to reward consumers for choosing our products and for spreading the word about the instant win game to their friends." The promotion will run from Aug. 13 to Sept. 8. The online game was developed by DraftFCB of Montreal. The contest is being administered by SCAInteractive of Dallas, TX.
