DDB Canada opens office in Victoria

DDB Canada has opened a new office in Victoria, BC to service clients in the Vancouver Island region, including BC Ferries. The office will be co-managed by Michael Allabarton and Hugh Ruthven. Allabarton spent the last 14 years as the head of Malahat Group International in Victoria. Ruthven was most recently a brand planner for DDB Canada in Vancouver and Toronto. Prior to that, he held a variety of positions at Palmer Jarvis (now DDB Canada) in Vancouver, including executive vice-president and managing director from 1997 to 2002. Prior to that, he was advertising manager for western Canada and director of marketing at McDonald's. In addition, Jason Dauphinee has been appointed senior art director of DDB Victoria. The agency will offer a full range of services, along with a new online research system called DDB Discovery, which will be operated in association with Ipsos Reid. This is is agency's fifth office, along with Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver.
